I've always wonder for distraction. Now i shall travel for fulfillment.

Alhamdulillah, my five days trip was a successful one. It was an eye opener and indeed captivating. Special thanks goes to Abang Azrin and Kak Shidah for initiating the trip. We went to one of the seven wonders of Asia. So, can you guys make a guess already? (:

Presenting to you, Cambodia

True, we went to Siem Reap for five days. I made some minor research on the weather, currency and things to do in Cambodia. 'Dry weather blowing you like a hair dryer in high degree' This statement scare me out but you know? When we reached there, no doubt it was humid but there wasn't such thing as hairdryer temperature. Got cheated, lol!

 But i was surprise with the transportation there. The road wasn't as busy as i thought and mind you, it was clean and hassle-free. Since taxi, buses and mrt was too common in Singapore, we ride all around Siem Reap with Tuktuk (:

Nah, they do not have any MRT/LRT here alright.

Still, it was intensely humid to the extent that i've decided not to apply any make up throughout my trip, except for the last day. Not even an eyeliner. Enough with moisturizing cream and baby powder. Our itinerary was very well planned by Abang Azrin & Abang Najib. Upon touchdown at 8 in the morning, we headed straight to our apartmen and take a rest before we went out for lunch.

  Our first food in Cambodia

We had Indian cuisine at Maharajah restaurant. Surprisingly the food price range from US$4 to US$6. It was pretty upmarket but since this was the nearest, we tried out and it wasn't disappointing at all. I tried their Briyani and it came in one full plate. Could have share but everyone already had theirs.

Our first activities was a visit to the floating village. It's more of a rural area and trust me, looking at how they earn for a living touched my heart. I was very much astounded that a packet of snack could really bring a smile on their face. Masya Allah, isn't that amazing? They really appreciate every single thing that come to them. It was indeed a learning point for me as well. I thanked Allah for everything he has given me, even up till now and for placing me in a more fortunate places than they are. For once, my thought was wrong. Pictures below will show you their way of living.

When we are done going around the village, we went to Crocodile and Fish farm to experience some 'jaw dropping' sunset. It was truly magnetizing.

How's the sunset? Captivating isn't it? By this time, we are all ready for dinner. We had buffet dinner which include a performance by Apsara dancers. Tell you, all this girls are so beautiful!

But, the food there was pretty dash hoping. The only thing i enjoyed was their dessert and plain bread. Despite it was a buffet, i left the place with my stomach almost 3/4 empty. To conclude, i didn't eat much on my first day but the idea about Cambodia was slowly expanding. 

Second day was the best. In what way? We had to wake up as early as 4am local timing for our very first activities of the day. Met our Tuktuk pilot at 5am and zoooom! We went to Angkor Wat, one of the seven wonders of Asia. The biggest among many other temples. The moment we reached, there were quite a number of tourist and local people already. It was quite a strict entrance whereby they really want to see your ticket before you were able to go in and there were also a few i call it security all over the place. We were there early to experience sunrise and also, trying our best to cover all the seven temples in one day.

As much as i thought the other six temples were just nearby each other, i'm wronged for the second time.

So, we eventually stop till the 3rd temples. All were too tired to continue with the rest of the visit. Furthermore, we had one pregnant lady with us on trip so priority is obviously on her. Right after the 3rd temple, our stomach were already grumbling, asking for food. Had our lunch and something epic happened to my room mate.

The first thing a child said to her, enticing her to buy her goods. 

" You my bestfriend, please buy this postcard. 10 pieces US$1."

The next thing she said " You promise to buy. You number one liar. You lie to children!"

Scary yet hilarious much. I guess the girl mistook her words when my room mate said that yes she's coming back but she didn't promised that little girl she would buy. All of us did came back from the restaurant to our Tuktuk of course. My, she must had left a bad impression on the child.

Since, all of us were overstrain after walking a long distance, we've decided to stay in our room. However, not for long, we went down the swimming pool and chill. Later at night, we went to the same restaurant over at Maharajah before we explore more food on the third day. Second day done.

By now, we're left with 3 more days before Singapore became our next destination. Our third & fourth day was even better. Wanna know? Find out more in my next post (:
