To graduate is a little bit of the sad moment but there are a lot of beautiful things out there and i'll enjoy them all.
I am not just happy for my graduation but i am deliriously happy for it. Syukur Syukur Syukur alhamdulillah. After months of waiting, it happened. The fact that graduation is a happy event, the beautiful bunch of graduates made it happier. I would say it was definitely one of my proudest moment. I felt so please and thankful that i'm able to bring a smile on my parents' face and i secretly know that they were proud of me. Nothing else matter than my family members. Still, i would also love to show my gratitude to all of you who had wish me for my success. The journey was arduous, challenging, at times mundane yet interesting. It totally reminds me of my college life back in two years.
Nang Seng Lumyang, Anika is the first person i talked to. A woman who came from Myanmar, Kachin to pursue her studies in Advance Diploma. I remembered i break the ice in the Rembrandt Restaurant. Though we used to have difficulty communicating with each other, i'm glad we were able to break the barrier. I'm just so grateful to have her in my life cause one important factor is that she respect my religion. Before she would say or invite me to anything, she will consider it first. She also love to share stories with me, especially about her family members and church activities. I've met a few of her family members and trust me, all are nice people. We also used to exchange religious knowledge but it's just a brief one. However, i can't deny that at times, we had our miscommunication and stubborn moment and that we didn't talk to each other. O yes but it didn't last too long. Her maturity and calmness made me realized that i shouldn't get my ego out of control and reconciliation is the best method of all. What please me even more is that we are still friends. She is my closest friend after all, 2 years and still counting! I can't thank her much for making my college life the best of it.
Currently, pursuing in Degree in Hospitality & Resort Management. Splendid!
Khon San, Asther. Another Kachin friend of mine, Anika's cousin. The first time i looked at her, i have to admit that she have the fierce looking looks. She wasn't that approachable and yes i was pretty afraid to talk to her. But, at times you just have too cause being close with the cousin means i will have to face her always. HAHAH! Ok kidding. She used to be in Intake before us but because she had to go for her maternity leave, she joined our Intake. And since then, we were close. So, i found out that she is a kind and funny yet firm woman. Quite authoritative but just towards her family members and stubborn! How can you expect a pregnant lady to clean the kitchen? She, on the other hand, insisted to help.
Always curious in learning and just like me, always asking questions! Well, logical questions of course :D
But, i am not that close to her as how i am with Anika because she always have to skip school, either to run errands for her/family business or childcare. Sometimes, have to apply leave to either fly back Myanmar or China for business trip. She definitely have difficulty juggling with business and school but look, she made it and i personally proud of her. I am seriously proud with Asther and Anika. Unlike other international students, they didn't cheat during exams and always strive hard to achieve their goals. Their positive attitude should be taken as an example; never give up!
Despite all the happy moments, i can't stop feeling disappointed. As i grow, i started to have more than just 8 classmates but looking at how many attended, my heart sank.
Most of them couldn't make it for the graduation. So what's left?
Just the four of us.
And from Intake 11 to Intake 15, how many attended?
Can't help feeling sad but really just this few. On a brighter side, this few made my night. We did some catching up and camwhoring. O yeah!
Our Convocation dinner was held at Amara Hotel and dinner was perfectly fine. Though the audience that attended was purely strangers to me, i'm still glad that they are willing to come down and witness our Graduation. I, Nur Haini am proud to be the only Malay in school. Peace. 8 November 2012, the day i was graduated from School of Hospitality & Resort Management as an Advance Diploma holder (:
My outfit for the night. Boooo, i gained a lot!
